About Me
Karel, Registered Dietitian | Squamish, BC
Hi there! I’m Karel, a registered dietitian based in Squamish, BC. I hold a Bachelor’s in Nutrition from the University of Montreal, and I’m currently pursuing a diploma in Sports Nutrition with the International Olympic Committee. This additional training allows me to help athletes optimize both their health and performance.
I moved to BC three years ago, motivated by my love for climbing and the outdoors. With a background in competitive swimming, triathlons, and now rock climbing, I truly understand the balance needed between reaching peak performance and fully enjoying food.
I’m passionate about empowering individuals to achieve their health goals while fostering a sustainable, positive relationship with food. My practice is grounded in evidence-based care, which means that everyone I work with receives tailored, compassionate support designed to meet their unique needs.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me rock climbing, exploring nature, traveling, or experimenting in the kitchen.
My services are available in both English and French
.
My Associations
I am a member of the College of College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) and Dietitians of Canada.
Why Work With A Dietitian
A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a protected title used to describe a nutrition professional who has a degree in nutrition from an accredited university, has completed hands-on training through internships and who is required to remain up to date with the emerging science with the completion of continuing competency programs. A dietitian must remain in good standing with their regulatory body. A dietitian will work with you to give you tools and information aligned with your culture, food tradition, personal needs, and challenges.
Unlike the Dietitian title, the term Nutritionist is not a protected or regulated title in British Columbia. Anyone can use it, regardless of their education or background.
